If you have ever watched a shibari scene and asked yourself, how do I play like that? With a few ties and rope handling techniques, you too can enjoy rope bondage!
In case you missed our OhioSMART Ties Second Sunday: Introduction to Rope Bondage, then come to our OhioSMART Third Saturday event in May! Over two hours, you’ll learn some of the fundamentals of rope bondage and scene creation!
No experience required. If you can tie your shoes, you’re more than capable of learning different ties.
The first hour we will go over how to tie a single column, a square knot, and how to reverse tension. The second hour will be a free time for folks to practice these skills, where vetted community members will circulate for feedback, tips, and tricks.
If you’re interested in continuing your rope journey, we highly recommend you attend our Ties Special Interest Group (SIG). At the Ties SIG, we regularly practice skills and learn new techniques from a variety of vetted presenters!
Recommended materials:
- Any type of rope
- Cutting shears
This class will be accessible for tying pairs and those tying solo.
Please note: we will have a limited amount of rope at our space for folks to use.
Schedule:
7:45 PM: Doors Open, Registration Opens
8:00 PM: Introduction to Shibari/Rope Bondage Begins (with open lab time)
10:00 PM: Class Ends, Party Begins
11:00 PM: Registration Closes, No Entry Permitted Past This Time
2:00 AM: Closing Time
Please note: We share our facility and parking lot with another club. On busy nights, a parking attendant in a safety vest may be present to direct your vehicle to park in a specific location. Please respect and follow the attendant's directions, thank you.
