Come join OhioSMART for its February Third Saturday Class: Floor Predicaments - Choose Your Own Suck with GingerSnap and Run. Once you are done with the class, come play the night away at our Play Party!

    Schedule:
    6:45 PM: Doors Open
    7:00 PM: Class Begins
    9:00 PM: Class Ends
11:00 PM: Registration Closes, No admittance after 11 PM.
    1:00 AM: Closing Time

    About the class:

FLOOR PREDICAMENTS: CHOOSE YOUR OWN SUCK

Predicaments can be the ultimate Choose Your Own Suck for the person in rope (PIR); they can choose to do something that relieves one aspect of the suck, but that choice results in a different suck… and none of the choices relieve all of the suck. The principle is easy enough to understand… it’s a lose-lose situation for the PIR. But how do we create a situation that isn’t just straightforward suffering, that instead offers choices… but no good choices?

In this class we will explore the fundamentals predicaments, tie-along with several predicaments, and ideate around how we can use the PIRs own body against them.

Prerequisites: In order to participate in hands-on class activities, rope tops must be able to tie a non-collapsing single column and double column ties, and be familiar with reverse tension, joining rope and basic knots & frictions. Persons being tied must have good body awareness. Both should have good communication skills and willingness to collaborate.

    To bring:
    • Basic rope kit (2-4 hanks of rope suitable for human bondage & an appropriate cutting tool).
    • A practice buddy is needed for hands-on participation. We suggest you arrive early if you wish to find another solo person.
    • This is a hands-on class; wear comfortable clothing & shoes. Persons being tied may wish to wear snug-fitting clothing, as loose clothing can get tangled in rope.
    • Comfort items, such as a yoga mat, floor pillow or small lap blanket.
    • A notebook & pen/pencil.

    About the teachers:

GingerSnap (she/they) and Run (he/they) started their rope journey almost 10 years ago. In addition to presenting and performing nationwide, they are active in their local community, offering a variety of rope classes and leading monthly rope jams. Their rope philosophy is building connections through rope and in giving back to the community through accessible education.

    GingerSnap:

GingerSnap is a sensualist and sadist who blends creativity and passion in every scene she creates. Her approach to rope emphasizes communication and consent ensuring that every tie balances beauty, intensity and connection.

    Run:

Run brings a sense of adventure, resilience and presence to every scene. He approaches rope as a collaborative art form - one that engenders trust, communication and mutual creativity with his tying partner.

Each year OhioSMART does a Sensation Stations Educational Play Party. What is that, you ask? Great question!

OhioSMART invites in local tops to demonstrate different types of play at individual stations around the dungeon. This allows you, the participant, to try the things you are curious about, but maybe didn't want to devote an entire scene to. This is also a great event for newcomers who have yet to try particular types of play. As they say, you never know until you try, and you just might find something you love!

As a note: Each individual participant, those topping at the station and bottoming for the sensation, will be actively negotiating during the event. If you are new to scene or what we call 'pick up play,' (any play done "in the moment") please stop by our negotiation station first! We will go over negotiation skills, tips, and tricks to help you navigate this event.

Sensation Stations thus far - keep checking back for more! We'll keep you updated online when we add Stations!
