OhioSMART Ties April Event: Creative use of Poles, Chairs, and other tying Accessories

We have all seen delicious and devious use of bamboo + rope or tying someone to a chair to exposure their body for additional types of play. Have you wondered what logistics and safety concerns go into using static items in your rope scenes? If so, join us at OhioSMART to cover safety, negotiating, and suggested best practices for using items like chairs and rods to add complexity to your scenes. We will only be covering how to do so with floor rope in this class.

You should have a solid understanding of a single column tie (non-collapsing), reversing tension, and half-hitches. If not, we will cover some of these.

This class will not have any specific patterns to follow but will instead encourage safe(r) creative use of fundamental rope skills and autonomy to create rope scenes.

You'll need:

• Optional: Bamboo, PVC Pipe, Curtain Rods, and/or other tying tools
• Rope/Gear: 4x30' hanks or more is ideal. We have some to share if needed
• Safety Shears/Cutting Tool
• Class Type: Intermediate, skill share, open tie
• Class Setup: Mat/Ground Area (will have several hard points)
• Prerequisite: Single Column Tie, frictions (preferred not required)

Remember to bring:

• A good attitude
• Willingness to learn and share
• Comfy clothes
• Your photo ID
