This is a hands-on workshop in which you will be guided through the basics of crafting your own rattan cane, from raw stick to a polished implement of sensation. A common companion to the Leather scene, Pup culture has seen a resurgence in the past few decades. Other species of human pets and critters are also seeing their own recognition, but with a less defined space within our community. Additionally, Pet play is commonly regarded as an expensive and able-bodied lifestyle. It is not just one event, Handler, leader, or organization’s responsibility to ensure that every pet and critter feels welcome, but a community effort. To give you tools to do the work in your own communities, this class will discuss barriers to inclusivity in the Pet community, help attendees recognize accessibility concerns when designing events geared towards a diverse Pet population, and facilitate collaborative suggestions to overcome these blockers.

Can this power exchange survive? We'll present basic techniques for defusing, renegotiating, and surviving when the NRE wears off. Leave the haze of books and movies and join in on a realistic discussion about how power exchange actually works. We'll look at how partners overcommit and why, and work with participants to graph their own power exchange.
