  Anyone looking to mingle while enjoying some good and drink is welcome! The event is for everyone, but especially helpful to anyone that would like to come socialize in a relaxed setting or get information about OhioSMART in a casual environment.

  This month we are heading back to one of our favorites: Muldoon's Saloon and Eatery! Muldoon's is a laid-back Irish bar with free popcorn and a varied menu. You can find most of the pub favorites, but they have some fun specialty items - like their Muldoon's Irish Eggrolls! While they don't have a website, they do have a Facebook, which does house their menu.   Come join OhioSMART for its second annual night of Mystery and Intrigue by helping us solve the…Case of the Love Struck Kinkster! Participants will interview eye witnesses to deduce which kinkster has left a Valentine and Paddle behind for their crush at the lockers! As an added twist, participants will also figure out who the crush is!

  It was a wild night at OhioSMART’s Valentine’s Day First Friday and while the paddles were paddling and the whips were snapping - someone left a Valentine and Paddle for their crush at the lockers! But wait….they forgot to sign their name AND forgot to put who the card/gift was for!

  So put on your detective hats and join us this First Friday in February to help solve the mystery of who left the card/paddle and who they meant it for! We encourage everyone to dress to theme!

  Want to be part of the Whodonit volunteers to give out clues - let us know by Monday, January 27, 2025 in the comments!**

• OhioSMART Ties: Tying Different Bodies: Perspectives from the Right Side of the Slash

  The purpose of this class is to gain a better understanding of the basics of negotiation, communication, safety and risk assessment of tying different bodies from a rope bottom's perspective. Connective rope and strategies for achieving connection will also be discussed.

  Brianna Bunni is a Covered Leather girl, POC Queer, fem, Leather, Switch flagging black, grey, fuschia and red on both sides and purple on the right side! She is the first Person of Color to hold the Title of Ms Route 66 Leather 2024 and she is Ms Atlanta Eagle 2022 ! Her mission is to be a part of the representation, education, and empowerment of QTBIPOC individuals within the Leather and Kink communities because visibility is important! She has and continues to collaborate with local queer organizations and individuals to host educational, safe, fun spaces for queer people to meet and enjoy!

  @OkieNawa:

  OkieNawa (or Okie) is Oklahoma Mr. Leather 2000 and was the first openly identified heterosexual and person of color to compete and win that title. He competed at International Mr.Leather 2000 later that year. In 2005 he had the honor of serving as the inaugural Mr. Great Plains Olympus and later captured the title of International Mr. Olympus 2006, which made him and his sash wife Lady Raven the first ever BIPOC International Mr. and Ms. Leather titleholders. Okie helped to produce Oklahoma Drummer and Leather Sir from 2000 to 2004. He was the executive producer of Oklahoma Leathersir and boy from 2004-2006 as well as being the regional producer for South Central Leather Contests from 2006-2007. Okie has written over 77 articles for various leather publications, one of the most notable is titled "Why Old Guard" under the pen name "David Masterson". He has studied kinbaku (AKA shibari) in Tokyo Japan. Okie helped to found the following groups: Kinbaku OKC in 2003, Kinbaku KCMO in 2008, Rope Bite KCMO in 2018 and the Kansas City Rope Collective. He has presented, judged or performed at over 100 BDSM, Leather or Rope events around the US, Canada and Tokyo since 1999. He has helped to raise over $80,000 for many different causes such as: The Leather Archives and Museum, The Winds House, The Leather Literary Project, Hurricane Katrina, AIDS/HIV, Greenwood community (where the Tulsa Race Massacre happened) and battered women's' shelter located in Oklahoma City and Tulsa Oklahoma. For the last few years, he has taken on the role of mentor, and spends time mentoring a few, but being a resource to others. You can find more information here!

  Class Information:
  Rope/Gear: 4 hanks of rope Jute or MFP (7-8 meters or 25-30 feet, 5-6 mm in diameter or 1/4 of an inch in diameter), some to share if needed.
  Safety: Shears/Cutting Tool
  Class Type: Hands On, Tie Along, Bringing a tying partner will be helpful for the practical hands on part of the class.
  Class Setup: Mat/Ground Area
  Remember to bring: A good attitude, willingness to learn and share, and comfy clothes.

  Interested in Power Exchange? Come join OhioSMART for their February Third Saturday Class & Play Party. Our presenter, Reya Sunshine, will be teaching her “Long Distance Power Exchange,” class.

  Long Distance Power Exchange Class Description

  Met a new person who (of course) lives far away? Are you developing a new dynamic from a distance? What if you’re never going to live close to each other, but want to keep your long-term connection between events? In this class we will: Learn how to outline the scope of your dynamic; Identify rituals, protocols, and activities you and your partner(s) can use from any distance; Decide how often to review and/or revise your dynamic; and Create a way to ramp up or power down your dynamic to work around your day-to-day lives.

  Presenter Bio:

  Reya Sunshine is a queer, demisexual, feral femme hedonist with over 15 years in the kink scene who teaches about consent, sensation play, and relationship dynamics across the country. Reya is an Emeritus member of Ohio SMART in Cleveland, the current president of the Titans of the Midwest, and a member of Haus of Heathens. Reya supports the Carter Johnson Library and Collection, the LA&M, and the NCSF. In her down time you can find her sorting through her vast collection of office supplies with a delicious iced coffee in her hands!

  Are you a kinkster who is living with a chronic illness or disorder? Are you someone who wants to get into kink but worry your heath issues may keep you from being able to participate? Does someone you love suffer from chronic illness with physical pain, fatigue or memory issues? In this part lecture, but mostly discussion class, we talk about strategies and tricks for keeping up with kink, BDSM and play when your energy is sapped by the bad kind of pain. This class is geared towards all of those with chronic pain, illness and those who consider themselves chronically ill or disabled. Friends and partners of those with chronic illness are welcome to attend as well.

  In this class, Ren discusses;

  • Is this "normal"?
  • Communicating your needs
  • Kink while under the influence, can you even consent with your injury?
  • Understanding your limits
  • Energy rebuilding - What will help you regain yourself?
  • Providing service while in pain
  • Bottoming while in pain
  • Topping while dealing with pain

  • Coping mechanisms

  Presenter Bio
  Ren Lane, aka BigCoyoteEnergy, formerly known as EroticWetAtomic, Mid-Atlantic Leather Woman Bootblack 2020, is an Executive Pervert, who identifies as a coyote, a masochist and submissive leaning switch. She runs Cigars Boots & Chocolate, Marylands largest queer catered cigar social. They are a bootblack with over 9 years of experience working on and maintaining leather.
